Areas of Work
AI & Digital Identity
AI now decides who you are before you ever get a word in. I write about — and practice — controlling your digital identity in an AI-mediated world, from structured data to AI-assisted authorship. It’s the subject of my book, Own Your Name.
Why does digital identity matter in the age of AI?
Search engines and AI assistants assemble a version of you from whatever signals exist. If you don’t supply those signals deliberately — verified profiles, structured data, a canonical knowledge graph — the machines will guess. I maintain a public name disambiguation page and a Wikidata entity for exactly this reason.
How do I use AI in my own work?
As a Chief Executive Operator, I treat AI as leverage for capable generalists — a way to widen personal range without becoming a bottleneck. I’ve used Claude to draft and edit full-length books, documented in Claude AI for Writing: The Complete Guide and How I Used Claude to Write My Book.
What are the practical building blocks?
Schema markup, llms.txt, verified cross-platform profiles, and consistent naming. I’ve written tactical guides on each: structured data and schema markup, llms.txt on Squarespace, and generative engine optimization.
